What paid social campaigns are
Paid social means ads you buy inside Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and LinkedIn. Unlike search ads, they do not wait for someone to type a query. You choose an audience, and the platform shows your ad to people in it while they scroll.
That makes the work different. You are interrupting someone, so the creative and the first line of copy carry most of the load. Audience choices decide who sees it. A lead form inside the platform, or a landing page on your site, decides how easy it is to respond.
Managing paid social covers all of that inside Meta Ads Manager or LinkedIn Campaign Manager, in accounts you own, along with the tracking that tells the platforms which responses count.
Watching frequency and creative fatigue
Frequency is the average number of times each person in an audience has seen an ad. On small B2B audiences, especially on LinkedIn, it climbs quickly.
High frequency is not a problem on its own. It becomes one when the same people keep seeing the same ad and stop responding. The signs are a falling click rate, a rising cost per lead, and comments or hides on the ad.
The routine response is a creative refresh: a new image, a different hook in the first line, another format. Sometimes the audience needs widening instead, or the budget is simply too high for the audience size. A provider should check frequency every week and have replacement creative ready before the old set wears out.
Getting ready for a paid social quote
A few answers make the first conversation shorter. You do not need everything sorted first. Rough notes in the quote form are fine.
- Which platform are you considering: Meta, LinkedIn or both?
- Do you already have a business portfolio or Campaign Manager account, and who holds admin access?
- Who is the buyer you want to reach?
- What would you offer them: a quote, a consultation, a guide?
- Do you have creative ready, or will that need producing?
- Where should form submissions go once they arrive?
The service partner reads your request, asks follow-up questions and quotes directly.
Questions about paid social campaigns
What is a special ad category?
Meta requires it for ads about housing, employment, credit or other financial products, and social issues or politics. It restricts targeting by age, gender and ZIP code and limits lookalike audiences. Whether your offer falls in a category is your decision, ideally checked with your own counsel.
Who owns the Facebook Page and ad account?
Your business should. The Page, Instagram account, ad account, pixel and customer lists belong in a Meta business portfolio owned by you, with the provider added as a partner. LinkedIn works the same way: your Company Page and Campaign Manager account, with the provider added as a user.
Can you produce the ad creative?
That depends on the service partner and the scope you agree. Some produce images, short video and copy; some adapt material you supply; some write briefs for your designer. Mention in your quote request what material you already have, and the partner will say how they would handle it.
If your ads, pages or follow-up need attention, describe the problem and get a scoped quote.
